We happily call the Pentland Hills our playground - we have spent so much time as a family walking, climbing, playing, foraging, rolling and camping out there - this is an in-joke that turned in to a t-shirt, the result of some long hikes where we talked with the children about the planet and our impact on it and its' animals. We talked about Scottish wildcats and the myth (?) of the 'Pentland Panther' and let our imaginations run wild on what other animals near to extinction might be out there. One thing led to another and the call of a grouse was mistaken for a penguin. The Pentland Penguin was born. And apparently, according to our 7 year old, it needs protection.
A quirky fun t-shirt celebrating the Pentland hills and all their inhabitants, real and mythical.
